A Story That Began Over a Century Ago
From a small village in Gujarat to the heart of Jamshedpur, our journey has always been guided by perseverance, craftsmanship and trust.
Early 1900s
From Dhrol to a New Beginning
In the early 1900s, our family head, Shri Popatlal Gopalji Adesara, decided to move from the small village of Dhrol in Jamnagar district, Gujarat, in search of a better future.
Calcutta
Learning the Art of Jewellery
His journey took him to Calcutta, where he began working with the jewellery manufacturing firm 'Mohan Jetha' in Burra Bazaar.
An ace goldsmith himself, he was entrusted with the responsibility of leading and supervising a team of more than a hundred gold jewellery karigars.
Kharagpur
The First Independent Venture
After approximately five years, he travelled to Kharagpur, West Bengal, where he started his own business and established a small jewellery workshop.
1920s
A New Opportunity in Jamshedpur
During the 1920s, after World War I, he heard about the opportunities emerging in the nearby town of Jamshedpur, then known as Tatanagar.
Seeing its promise of growth and solid infrastructure, he moved to Jamshedpur with great zeal and high hopes and opened a jewellery shop under his son's name.
1925
Ratilal P. Chokshi & Sons Is Founded
In 1925, Ratilal P. Chokshi & Sons (Jewellers) was founded with one goal: providing the finest craftsmanship paired with quality and purity in every jewel.
Later, Shri Ratilal P. Chokshi took over the business and carried forward the same values and vision.
Today
A Legacy That Continues
Inspired by a legacy of more than four generations, we continue to stay true to our core values of Trust, Purity and Tradition.
Our passion for excellence has driven us from the beginning and continues to guide us into the future.
Today, under the able guidance and legacy of Late Shri Bipinbhai Ratilal Chokshi, the shop continues to stand tall and strong at the very place where it all began.
